1994 National Finals

The 32nd National Bible Quiz Finals took place August 8-11, 1994 in Springfield, Missouri at Central Bible College covering the books of 1 & 2 Corinthians. Rich Percifield was the National Coordinator and Mark Girimonte was the official question writer.

This was the second of three years in which the third-place tournament was held on Monday. The eight third-place teams from each region were invited to participate in a tournament among themselves on Monday. The top four teams were allowed to compete for the championship with the other 16 teams. Several third-place teams declined to participate, and some that did participate only got to quiz on Monday.

The national championship was won in a playoff by St. Clair Shores A/G, St. Clair Shores, MI. The second-place team was First A/G, Warren, OH. The third-place team was First A/G, Moberly, MO.

This was the third national championship for the Great Lakes region. They would win one more time in 1997.

The top scorer at the 1994 National Finals was Lisa Wootton of Bartlesville, OK. Lisa’s per quiz average was 114.21. Lisa was the top scorer in 1993 as well. She is one of only four quizzers to be top scorer in back-to-back years.

Lisa Wootton won the scholarship quiz at the Celebration Service. Participants in the quiz included the top quizzers from the 1st and 2nd place teams, the top quizzer overall and the winner of the one-on-one. Lisa Eutsey, Matt Reed and Joy Daigle finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
